Physiotherapy is an important means to dealing with and rehabilitating mobility difficulties in children. Moreover, it assists in solving other associated problems.
During the initial assessment we focus on establishing the precise mobility condition of the child, restrictions, deficiencies as well as his/her abilities and overall capabilities. This assessment includes an interview with the parents who provide valuable additional information.
During the main therapy we focus on providing the optimum conditions for the child’s sensory and motor development and growth. The assessment of muscular tone, the suspension of pathological movement standards and the encouragement of a natural and free movement and function are the axes of all therapeutic schemes.
Therapy is individual, carefully planned and constantly revised depending on the child’s progress. Parents and their participation are an integral part of the therapeutic scheme. We train parents to hold, to handle their child properly and to include parts of the therapy in the child’s everyday activities.
The therapeutic scheme is supported by necessary medical devices such as: splints, braces, seats, standing frames among others, which are carefully selected at each rehabilitation phase.
Cooperation and constant communication with other child-related disciplines allow us to better comprehend the child’s difficulties and develop his/her competences.
